Matthew Levin ('91) was appointed Chief Administrative Law Judge for the Boston Office of the Social Security Administration in January 2010. 

Jeffrey R. Escobar ('04) has joined the Real Estate Department at Proskauer Rose LLP as an Associate and residentconstruction law specialist. His practice will focus on complex construction law and construction and real estate-related litigation.

Anusce Sanai ('09) announced the grand opening of her law firm, Anusce Sanai, LLC, in Alexandria, VA. The firm concentrates on a number of legal matters including, family law, estate planning, and immigration.

Karla Rosero ('07) is celebrating the grand opening of her immigration law firm in Brooklyn, NY, the Law Office of Karla P Rosero PLLC, on July 18.

Garfield Miller (’97) has been named Caribbean Legal Counsel of DHL Global Business Services, effective June 4, 2010. Garfield joined DHL in 2007 and, prior to his appointment, was providing legal counsel to the internal Real Estate and Procurement Services.

Kathleen Pfeifer Spurling (’88), an alumna and trustee of New England Law | Boston, has been named one of 51 honorees receiving the Massachusetts Medical Law Report’s 2010 “Rx for Excellence” awards. The 2010 awards salute the very best in risk management and patient safety.

John Clemency (’84) and four other attorneys, who were all members of national law firm Greenberg Traurig's bankruptcy practice, joined Gallagher & Kennedy, P.A., a full service business law firm based in Phoenix, AZ. John’s practice includes Chapter 11 bankruptcies for lenders, borrowers, committees, trustees, lessors, and asset purchases, commercial litigation, and out-of-court workouts.

Melissa A. Gleick (Durand) (’07) has been appointed associate at Estate Preservation Law Offices located in Worcester, MA. Melissa’s practice focuses on estate planning, corporate planning and estate and trust administration. She also represents clients in various probate matters including estates, guardianships and conservatorships. Most recently, Melissa served as law clerk to the Justices of the Superior Court of Massachusetts.

Patricia Giordano (’85) served as co-moderator of the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ) Women Trial Lawyers’ Caucus educational program, “Navigating your way through Medicare Set-asides, Life Care Plans & Medical Records.” The presentation was offered on May 12, 2010, as part of a NJAJ networking event intended to provide information relevant to trial lawyers in an informal setting, with a concurrent goal of increasing the presence of South Jersey lawyers in the NJAJ. Patricia practices personal injury law with the Philadelphia law firm, Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock & Dodig.

Timothy J. O’Brien (’83) has been selected by his clients and peers as a 2010 “Leader in his Field”, by Chambers USA, an International publication of the world’s best lawyers. Inclusion in Chambers occurs through an exhaustive evaluation process by one’s clients and peer lawyers. Tim is a partner at Libby O’Brien Kingsley & Champion, LLC, which has offices in Kennebunk, ME, and Waltham, MA. Tim’s practice areas include Labor and Employment, Sports Law, and Litigation.
