BRIEF IT!

Kevin Penders (’96) was unanimously voted onto the Foxboro Zoning Board of Appeals, which acts on variance requests, hears appeals of the building commissioner's decisions, and considers applications for comprehensive permits under the state's 40b affordable housing law. Kevin is an attorney with the law firm of Keegan Werlin, LLP specializing in energy, regulatory and public utility law.

Antoinette E.M. Leoney (’84) was elected as an officer of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation for 2010. The Massachusetts Bar Foundation is the philanthropic partner of the Massachusetts Bar Association. Through its grantmaking and charitable activities, the MBF works to increase access to justice for all Massachusetts citizens. As an officer, Toni is part of a twenty member board charged with overseeing the operations and charitable activities of the Foundation and will serve her term through January, 2011.

Steven Wolberg (’93) has been appointed the Chief Strategy Officer by the Board of Directors of Acies Corporation, a company that specializes in payment processing services to small, medium, and large-size merchants across the United States. Steven also currently owns and serves as the Managing Member of Prime Portfolios, LLC.

Sheila McNulty (’91) has been named to Red Pine Camp’s Board of Directors. Red Pine Camp for Girls is a summer residential girls camp located in Minocqua, WI. Sheila began her affiliation with Red Pine Camp as a camper in 1972 and returned every year for the next twelve years until 1984 when she was a counselor. Her sisters, seven of her nieces, and her daughter Jillian all attended Red Pine. Sheila is an attorney and serves as the Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois Chicago, Illinois as part of the Department of Homeland Security. McNulty represents the United States in immigration matters brought in federal district courts in the Northern District of Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana.

Ayer town administrator Shaun A. Suhoski (’95) was unanimously chosen by selectmen to be the new Sturbridge town administrator. Shaun had served as director, community and economic development, for Ayer from 1999 to 2006 and was the project manager/city grants administrator for the Department of Community Development & Planning for Gardner from 1994 to 1999.

Kathryn A. Kerins (’07) was named as an associate attorney at Worcester law firm, Lian, Zarrow, Eynon & Shea (www.lzes.com). Her practice will focus on family law.

Kreg R. Espinola (’01) and Jason Brolsma (’08) were added to New Bedford firm, Beauregard, Burke & Franco (http://beauregard-burke-franco.com/). Espinola will concentrate his practice on personal injury law, civil litigation and administrative law. Brolsma’s practice will focus on civil litigation.
